Sports Federations Elections: Nsirim ‘ll Be Stopped At The Poll -Oshodi

The vice president of the Nigeria Judo Federation, Dr. Musa Oshodi has expressed the readiness of stakeholders in judo to stop the re-election of Timothy Nsirim as the chairman of the Federation to bring about the heavy decline of the sport in Nigeria.

Oshodi, who is vying for the post of President of the Federation, confirmed that the sport’s stakeholders and some members of the Federation met in Abuja recently to charted a way forward for the 30th May national Sports Federation elections in Abuja.

The group comprising some of the board members, prominent coaches and retired athletes, who also agreed to work for the election of the former international as the new president of the Federation.

“There was a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the state of the sport and the way forward. The meeting was necessary to ensure that judo moves forward and not backwards.

“What is going on in judo in Nigeria is worrisome and I believe that the delegates who will vote at the elections in May know what they want for the sport.

“Judo is a sport that has brought many years of glory to Nigeria and as such we will do everything to ensure that it returns to the glory days. The election will give us the opportunity to bring in fresh ideas and help to achieve the desires of every judo stakeholder in the country,” Oshodi said.
