School Accreditation: Amosun Commended By Ogun Lawmaker

The Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led government in Ogun State has been lauded by the Minority Leader in the state’s House of Assembly, Hon. Olawale Alausa for putting in place necessary machinery for ensuring re-accreditation for the School of Nursing at Ijebu-Ode.

Alausa, who gave the commendation while speaking under Personal Explanation during the House plenary, said the reaccreditation of the nursing programme of the institution would go a long way in equipping the school in turning out more health professionals that would provide medical care in the various health facilities across the country.

The lawmaker, who represents Ijebu Ode State Constituency, explained that the State Government through the State Ministry of Health had ensured the accreditation of courses in the institution, which according to him would commence operation in October, 2017.

Responding, the Speaker, Rt. Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi said the current administration in the State was irrevocably committed to the development of all sectors of the State economy, noting that qualitative and affordable education programme was one of the cardinal programmes of government which was being accorded the deserved attention.

Also, Adekunbi while responding to Hon. Akinpelu Aina’s report on the need for rehabilitation of Owode-Ijako-Iyana Ilogbo Road on the Lagos- Abeokuta Expressway; called on the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to liaise with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to put in place palliative measures for motorists plying the road.

The Speaker said there was need for such palliatives to fix the bad portion of the road to reduce the effects caused the rains.
