The event was tagged “Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord” with praise and worship songs.

The event had the likes of former Principal of Methodist Theological Institute, Sagamu, Ogun State, retired Archbishop Lawrence Ayo Ladigbolu, President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend (Dr) Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, Oyo State chapter chairman, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu, Chief Dotun Oyelade as well as reverends, pastors and evangelists across churches in Ibadan and beyond in attendance.

In his sermon, Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, while reading from the book of Isaiah chapter 40, emphasized on why it was imperative for all human beings irrespective of belief, condition and status to appreciate God for all He has been doing in our lives.

He stated that there was need for people to retrace their steps back to the way of God through their relationship with other human beings. He added that if people fail to allow almighty God to reign supreme in their hearts and endeavour, all praises and worships will be in vain.

Archbishop Ladigbolu established that all leaders irrespective of position be it in government, association, office must prepare their minds to walk the way of the Lord in order to be useful not only to the community or state but also to the entire nation.

The former Principal of Methodist Theological Institute submitted that there was no way people that are not godly in positions of authority can contribute meaningfully and positively to the development of nation, state and community.

He charged Christians not to lose focus on the second coming of Jesus Christ, noting that He was the reason why Christmas today is being celebrated all over the world.

Christians Association of Nigeria’s President, Reverend (Dr) Samson Ayokunle, in his Christmas message implored politicians to only and always look up to God for promotion, saying that He is the only one that is capable of fulfilling all human desires.

He commended the organizers, the planning committee and CAN in Oyo State for the efforts and support given to the organizers to gather people together irrespective of religious affiliations.

Part of the highlights of the event was the prayers for the nation, leaders and the family of Engr Seyi Makinde by Pastor Akinsola, while Oyo State CAN Chairman, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu read the first lesson from the book of Genesis chapter 1, verses 24-31.
