Osun state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola has  expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Osun United players in the Wednesday football match between the club and Bendel United.

Aregbesola, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the football match said he was impressed to see his side secure all three points against the Edo State financed side.

The governor then charged the Osun United players to sustain the winning momentum so as to achieve the season set goal of promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Adeyemi Adeyeye scored a brace in Osun United’s 2-0 win over Bendel Insurance Football Club in one of the Week Two contests of the Nigeria National League at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.

The former Crown and Remo Stars frontman who inspired Osun United to record their first win of the 2017 NNL season opened the scoring on the 12th minute of the pulsating encounter before sealing all three points from the penalty spot in the 30th minute to send the anxious spectators at the Stadium into wide jubilation.

The Omoluabi Giants continued to dominate after taking the lead and could have gone further ahead, with Mamud Akorede, Tosin Omoyele, Damola Fakayode and Dare Olatunji, but Bendel Insurance managed to prevent more goals.

A thunderous strike by Olatunji Dare, in the added time of the first half was brilliantly saved by Insurance goalkeeper, Nathaniel Asibe.

A tactical switch from the Benin Arsenal saw them gain some sort of foothold in the game after the hour mark, but it was too late to fight back into the game.

Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance coach, Roland Ewere, said his team lost to a better side, promising to get back to the drawing board to correct errors noticed in the game.

Osun United gaffer, Duke Udi, commended his team for the great display and promised that the team will continue to work hard as the season progresses.

Osun United will on Sunday be guests to Crown Football Club in a South West derby scheduled for the Soun Township Stadium, Ogbomosho.
