Lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina has promised to double up his efforts to contribute constructively to any debate that will empower and improve the welfare of workers in the country.
Hon. Dapo Lam as he is fondly called commended workers in the country for their perseverance despite the irregular payment of salaries and arrears coupled with poor welfare packages being experienced as a result of economic downturn faced by the country.
According to a statement issued and signed by Oyo State former commissioner, “I cannot but felicitate with workers on this day. They have shown uncommon resilience during these trying times.
“The story of how the nation has achieved success cannot be told without mentioning the positive contributions of workers. I doff my hat for all workers in the country.
“As a lawmaker, I will make sure I contribute constructively to debates that will empower workers so that they will enjoy the fruits of their labour, even while in active service.
He urged governments at all levels to be more committed to the improvement of workers “I will like to urge governments at various levels to be committed to the empowerment and protection of rights of workers in the country.”
He also charged workers to continue with their hard work and remain focused on their work.
