The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has been commended for his efforts and approach to governance in ensuring that all spheres of government in the state under his watch are witnessing tremendous growth and development.

Former General Manager, Pace Setter Transport Service (Ajumose Bus), Mr. Wole Akinleye gave the commendation during an interactive session with journalists on CEO Africa’s ‘Community Today’ with focus on the sixth Anniversary of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the state governor held at Jericho, Ibadan.

Mr. Akinleye noted that Governor Ajimobi’s administration in the last six years has changed the people’ orientation towards the state’s politics, saying that the menace that used to polarize the state before is no longer exist.

He stated that the situation of the state’s economy is no longer the same, as the state’s economy has received boom. Akinleye opined that presently, Oyo State is the second largest economy in the South West after Lagos State, in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) the state is ranked fourth after Lagos, Rivers and Delta States.

Akinleye, former APC House of Representatives aspirant in Akinyele Federal Constituency in 2011 emphasized that achievements recorded by the present administration in education, transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, real estate sector and the rest were results of deliberate and strategic approach of Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

While speaking on his role in the Pace Setter Transport Service, a transport and logistics expert noted that it is the policy of every government to have a transport company to boost the economy, adding that it will be impossible for a state economy to develop without a good transport system in place.

He explained that the ‘Ajumose Bus’ was structured to touch every local government in the state, adding that role was to ensure efficient and effective running of the company.

Akinleye, a pioneer staff member of the company, while explaining reason why the company was able to perform during his time as the General Manager, stated that the Pace Setter Transport Company was able to perform up to its maximum level because the government had tackled major obstacle which was road construction and expansion.

On his political journey, Mr. Akinleye pointed out that many political ambitions failed because decision made were just “a single person’s decision, rather than, the group’s decision”.

He noted that as a politician, it is not compulsory to contest in an election before you can serve your people, noting that there are other numerous portfolios available to occupy.

Akinleye disclosed that his mission in politics was driven by passion to serve, and that his decision to contest election is subjected to opportunity available to him by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
