Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Mike Obi and Victor Moses’ names are on Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.

Both players missed Nigeria’s 2019 Afcon qualifier against South Africa in Uyo and on that occasion, Rohr suffered his first defeat since taking charge of the team.

The German confirmed both players as well as Center back, Leon Balogun have been listed.

“Mikel Obi is coming back after his injury. We missed him very much. Also, Victor Moses and Leon Balogun will also return to the team.”

“Unfortunately, we will be without our goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, who is sick.”

Nigeria will battle Cameroon in World Cup Qualifiers Third round on the first of September, and play the return leg September 4, in Yaounde.

The Super Eagles are top of group B‎ with six points, four points more than second-placed Cameroon.

Announcement of the provisional list of invitees for the double header against the Indomitable Lions is expected this week.
