Amosun Lauded By Legislators For Reconstructing Roads

Impressed by the infrastructural drive of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration, members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have commended the on-going road rehabilitation at Sagamu-Ikorodu, Ilaro-Owode,  Sabo-Odelemo-Emuren and Ijoko- Agbado-Ojodu roads.

Members of the Assembly including the Majority Leader, who is a member representing Sagamu I State Constituency, Adeyinka Mafe, members representing Yewa South and Ifo II State Constituency, Honourables Julianah Akintayo and Ganiyu Oyedeji respectively gave the commendation while speaking under Personal Explanation during a plenary session presided over by Speaker Suraju Ishola Adekunbi.

The Lawmakers while appreciating the State government for the repair and reconstruction  of the federal roads which cut across major towns, said the construction work would contribute massively to the socio-economic development of the State just as it would ease human and vehicular movements.

Responding, Speaker Adekunbi reassured of the present government’s commitment towards completing all projects before the expiration of tenure of current administration in the State, while assuring that government would pay compensation to all residents whose structure(s) paved way for the   reconstitution.

In another development, the State House of Assembly played host to the State Chapter of the Association of Building Artisans with a task to them to liaise with the State Government through the Board of Technical Education with a view to designing curriculum for the advancement of skills for youth in the State.

The Speaker accompanied by other members of the Assembly stressed the importance of the association to redesign the transfer of skills and knowledge in line with technical education syllabus to avail apprentices of current trend and modern practices in their respective professions.

In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo posited that active involvement of artisans in any State economy was important to the socio-economic development of the country, tasking them to organise training and capacity workshop for members across the State to enhance their professional competency.

Earlier, the Secretary of the Association, Mr Raheed Salami, thanked government for the ongoing massive infrastructural development in the State, soliciting more government support for all the activities of the association.
