My Plans For The People of My Constituency – Oyo ADP’s Okunola Akere

In line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines for the 2019 general elections, the candidate, contesting for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat in Ibadan South West constituency 1 under the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Hon. Abdulwasiu Okunola Akere has rolled out plans to uplift his people if he eventually becomes winner in the 2019 election.

Hon. Okunola Akere, who is also the Mogaji of Arole Beyioku Akere disclosed this at his political base, Akere Compound, Oritamerin, Ibadan, where he played host to party big wigs, faithfuls and numerous residents of Ibadan South West Local Government.

Mogaji Akere, while speaking on his campaign plans for the people of his constituency, mentioned provision of education, women and youth empowerment and labour legislation as parts plans to uplift his people.

He explained that he has been contributing to the development of education in his neighborhood for the past 15 years in the area obtaining SSCE and JAMB forms for the people, youths in particular to avail them higher education, which will make it impossible for anybody to enslave them.

Hon. Akere also promised to ensure that market men and women enjoy meaningful and purposeful dividends of democracy through cooperative society which enable them access to funds to boost their businesses and trade.

In the area of job opportunity, Hon. Okunola Akere stated that he had been assisting people to find jobs before his aspiration for a political office, noting that his 25 years working relationship with many people in the corridors of power and corporate world will give him more chance to do more.

He noted that he has been doing these in his capacity as a way of giving back to the neighborhood where he grew.

While speaking on his decision to contest the election under the platform of ADP, he said that he left All Progressives Congress (APC) due to imposition, and for the love and trust people in his constituency have in him brought about the choice of ADP.

Hon. Akere, therefore, commended former Governor Christopher Alao-Akala for his leadership role and opportunity given to him as one of the candidates to contest elections under Action Democratic Party.

He buttressed that ADP remains the only better and credible alternative for the people of the state, as it is the only party without internal rancour.

Hon. Akere, while admonishing the people of the state to vote for all ADP candidates come 2019 general elections, charged them not engage in any form of violence capable of jeopardizing peaceful exercise.

Some of the party’s leaders in attendance included Chairman of ADP, Ibadan South West, Alhaji Tajudeen Olatunji, Woman Leader, Mrs. Abiodun Babalola, Alhaji Ismail Parakoyi and Chief Odunade Akere among others.
