Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti State has approved the perimeter fencing of A.U.D Primary School, Irona, Ado-Ekiti to secure the lives of pupils and teachers from hoodlums reportedly terrorizing the school.

The Permanent Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Euncie Oladimeji made this known in Ado-Ekiti during the monitoring of resumption of teachers and pupils for the second term of the 2018/2019 academic session in the state.

Stressing the commitment of the state government to providing a conducive teaching and learning environment in schools across the state, the Permanent Secretary assured that schools in the state will soon wear a new look.

While charging teachers in schools visited to rise up to their professional responsibilities and reciprocate government’s gesture of prompt payment of salaries as well as the  release of government housing and vehicle  loans to them, Dr. Oladimeji called for punctuality and commitment on the part of teachers.

She reminded the teachers that the present Kayode Fayemi-led administration has zero tolerance for  absenteeism and other forms of indiscipline.

Oladimeji, who equally directed that test be conducted for pupils who have already reported in schools urged teachers to commence normal academic activities without any further delay.

Condemning the poor turn-out of pupils at St Stephen’s Primary School, Ago Aduloju, the TESCOM Permanent Secretary urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards take advantage of the present administration’s free education policy.
