Candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming general elections for Ibadan South East/North East Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. AdedapoLam-Adesina, Ibadan South East Constituency II, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige and Ibadan South East Constituency I, Hon. Fatai Adesina have promised to assist victims whose shops and property were set ablaze by hoodlums during a clash between rival gangs at Idi Arere, Ibadan in the mid-night of Sunday 6th January, 2019.
The trio of Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, Hon. Ademola Ige and Fatai Adesina made the promise during their condolence visit to the scene of the incident to sympathize with the people who were injured or lost their valuables during the mayhem.
During the clash, properties worth millions of naira including shops and residential buildings were razed on Sunday by miscreants who equally looted other people’s property.
While addressing the victims, the candidates who described the incident as pathetic, however, called on the Oyo State government to be more proactive in ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property before, during and after the fast approaching 2019 general elections.
