Ekiti Government Warns Against Panic Buying Of Petrol

0

Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in Ekiti State has advised the people of the State against panic buying of petroleum products, especially, PMS (Petrol) saying what is being experienced at the moment is an attempt to create some sorts of artificial scarcity so as to derail the sanity being experienced in the supply of fuel across the country and Ekiti in particular.

Reacting to unconfirmed reports and rumours going round the State that there was an imminent increase in pump prices of petroleum products, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Information, Tourism, and Values Orientation, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua urged petroleum marketers in the State to desist from hoarding the products so as not to create unnecessary tension, hence, making life difficult for the good people of the State.

Stressing that there was no short supply of petrol, the Commissioner confirmed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said that it has over one billion litres of petrol in stock, while imports of 48 vessels of 50million litres each have been committed for this month alone.

While reiterating that PMS pump price remains #145.00 per litre, Olumilua warned that anyone trying to sabotage the Fayemi led administration’s effort at bringing succour to the people of Ekiti will face the full wrath of the law.
