Nigeria’s Super Falcons head coach, Thomas Dennerby has insisted that his team will fight till the end despite their 3-0 defeat to Norway in their opening game at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Nigeria put up a good fight in the encounter but conceded thrice in the first half and despite tactical changes by Dennerby after the break, failed to stage a comeback.

“When it comes to sports, never ever give up. We have to fight for 180 minutes more, plus added time,’’ Dennerby told reporters.

“A game can change in the last minute. So, we will work very hard for it and I can promise that we’ll never give up.”

The West Africans will face South Korea in their next Group A fixture in Grenoble on Wednesday.

Defeat in the game could end Super Falcons ambition of making it to the Round of 16.
