It made the call on Monday, in reaction with the recent statement credited to Governor Sanwo-Olu that the new administration in the State would not initiate new any project until after ensuring the completion of all the various abandoned projects of previous administration  in the State.

According to the signed statement by SLG’s Convener, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman which copies were made available to newsmen.

The group advised Mr. Sanwo-Olu to declare state of emergency in the area of critical infrastructures of the State, especially, in Ikorodu communities, maintaining that the Ikorodu axis of the State has the highest numbers of abandoned projects of previous administration in the State.

Comrade Sulaiman, recalled that the group had written many complaint Petition Letters to draw the attention of the State Government to the plight of the people of the Ikorodu area of the State, insisting that Sanwo-Olu administration needs to give priority  to the area.

It also maintained that the group had received great assurances from the immediate past Government of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on the various ongoing road and educational projects in the area.

It listed the communities in the area where the abandoned projects are physically observed  and others that need attention of the State Government as; Igbogbo,Awesu/Orere-Abosan,Offin/Oreta,Baiyeku,Ebute,Adamo and Araromi communities.

While Calling for immediate action of the new administration on the subject matter, the group then urged the Sanwo-Olu administration not to neglect other areas of the State in fixing their critical infrastructures as well.
