Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has turned down a big money move to French Ligue 1 champions, Monaco.
The skillful youngster had been interested in the proposal from the Principality outfit, but had a change of mind because he wants to obtain a British passport.
”Monaco were ready to bid 35 million pounds for Iheanacho, they were in talks with his agent,” an intermediary involved in negotiations said.
”He was offered a four-year contract and would have been paid five million euros per season wages if he agreed to move.”
He added ”He is joining Leicester City, the club are delaying the announcement because of the dispute with his former agent. He was interested in moving to Monaco but said it can only be possible when he gets his British passport”.
Ahead of his transfer to the King Power Stadium outfit, Iheanacho has remained professional and turned up for Manchester City’s start of pre-season training on Monday.
