Hibernian boss, Neil Lennon has expressed his displeasure as Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose goes absent without official leave (AWOL) and fails to resume in time for pre-season.
The Nigeria international was given an extended vacation but has remained incommunicado since the squad started preparations for the new season, and Hibs manager Neil Lennon has strongly hinted that he will face the music whenever he returns to Scotland.
Ambrose, who signed a two-year deal with Hibernian after impressing on loan last season from Celtic, has missed all three of his club’s pre-season matches.
He was instrumental in Hibernian’s promotion back to the Scottish Premiership after the club’s three-year absence from the top flight.
“There’s no sign of Efe – so he is in a bit of trouble with the manager now,” Lennon told Edinburgh News.
“I can’t get a hold of him at all. He was given a wee bit of time off, but I think he is pushing the boundaries at the minute. The sooner he is back, for his sake, the better. I expected him back a lot sooner than this and it will be getting discussed behind closed doors.
“He’s got that to look forward to when he gets back!”
