Nigerian politicians no dey carry last! The social media has been bombarded with congratulatory messages from the followers of Barrister Azeem Gbolarumi – they are claiming that the Oyo South Senatorial seat won during last Saturday’s National Assembly election by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr Kola Balogun actually belongs to their principal.
Parrots gathered from those of them who interacted with us that in addition to the fact that the issue is in court, their principal (Barrister Gbolarumi) campaigned and sent agents out to gather his votes for him last Saturday.
Hear what one of the politicians told Parrots “Dr Kola Balogun was still in African Democratic Congress (ADC) when our man, Dr Gbolarumi won the Oyo South Senatorial District ticket in PDP.
“Balogun later joined PDP and was given the ticket as if it is ‘akara’. We have all our pieces of evidence to show that the mandate belongs to our man. The courts will decide soon.”
Meanwhile, Dr Kola Balogun has been celebrating his victory at the NASS polls. He has even paid a visit to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
Please dear readers, stay with Parrots for updates on this. And more.
