Nigerian table tennis star, Aruna Quadri, has revealed why he joined Bundesliga outfit, TTC RhönSprudel.
The 2016 Beijing Olympics quarter-finalist played for 10 years in Portugal before making the switch to Germany this year.
And the 31-year-old who recently recovered from a thigh injury believes the timing, and the urge to take up a new adventure influenced his decision.
Quadric said, “After 10 years in Portugal, I thought it was the right time to change scenery. I also played in France for around two years; I felt I needed a new adventure.
“I have had experience before with a former sponsor in Germany but, my new sponsor, Weo, wanted me to pitch my tent in the Bundesliga, so it was the right move.
“They wanted me to build on my brand, and playing in the Bundesliga was one of the key demands and they moved to finally broker the deal for me.”
