First City Monument Bank says it has opened entries for the fifth edition of its contest, tagged ‘#FCMBFlexxtern’, that will enable eligible young Nigerian graduates to secure employment in leading corporate organisations in the country.
A statement obtained on Sunday said the online contest was designed for youths between 18 and 30 years and would run between October 15 and 30, 2021.
According to the statement, it is a programme that offers young Nigerian graduates the opportunity to gain work experience through an internship that could eventually lead to full employment in reputable organisations.
The Group Head, Corporate Affairs of FCMB, Mr Diran Olojo, said, “The #FCMBFlexxtern programme is another platform for Nigerian youths to demonstrate their talent and determination to take leadership positions.
“We realise that many youths have what it takes to succeed if given access to mentoring, training and practical knowledge. We are excited that the #FCMBFlexxtern initiative has become a catalyst to fast-track the development of a new generation of professionals and leaders.
“It is expected that many young graduates will take advantage of this opportunity by participating in this year’s contest.”
He said that nearly 100 young graduates had benefitted since the programme’s inception in 2016, with several of them doing very well in their chosen careers.
He added that the competition would take place through the FCMB Flexxzone, which he described as an exclusive microsite, known as Flexx, built around the bank’s product for youths.
Olojo advised young graduates wishing to participate in the contest to visit the FCMB Flexxzone and upload a 45-second video on YouTube using the hashtag #FCMBFlexxtern5, and explain why they are the best qualified for the internship opportunity.
He said they should then invite their friends to vote for them.
