Comrade Abiodun Aremu, the Secretary Joint Action (JAF) has charged Nigerian leaders to change the negative narrative associated with the country’s elections stating that the previous elections held in 2011, 2015 and 2019 were marred with irregularities.

Comrade Aremu stated this during the 33rd Annual General Conference (AGC) of the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) at the National Secretariat, Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja Lagos recently.

Aremu further charged Nigerians to be optimistic in the future of the country, stating that the situation of things in the country is still redeemable.

He said, “Nigerians can only redeem the country on the basis of the CDHR’s agenda which can address the challenges of the country”.

He, however, lamented that the country has always been ruled by groups of exploiters who have impoverished the country stating that the idea behind privatization of industries brought into the country many years ago was a total misfit.

He further decried the fate of the over 40 million young Nigerians who are unemployed saying that this is the reason for the rising rate of criminal activities in the country.

The Nigerian activist, however, stated that the country can overcome its numerous challenges if the masses can form a united and progressive path to challenge the criminalities currently being experienced in the country.

He said “When the people organize themselves on the basis of a program that can address the yearnings and aspirations of every Nigerians and not on the basis of the class of exploiters, then, an end will come to their sufferings and exploitations”

He equally tasked Nigerians on the need to form a party for the working class and masses whose goals will be aimed at total liberation of the people of the country.
