A prominent member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Otunba Demola Popoola (ODEP) has officially declared his intention to contest during the fast approaching Ekiti gubernatorial election.
He further berated the attitude of political opponents discouraging him from contesting, stating that he has consulted widely before accepting the offer.
He, however, expressed the optimism that APC will triumph during the June 18th, 2022 governorship race.
Speaking further, the Public Relations Officer of APC in Ekiti State, Mr. Segun Dipe described the aspirant as a smart politician who always matches his words with action.
Giving her remarks, the women leader of the APC in Ekiti State, urged the aspirant to be considerate to the women folk when he emerges victorious in the election while assuring him of the support of the women of the state.
The Ekiti State APC Chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso further commended the aspirant for his contribution to the party while assuring all aspirants of a free and fair primary election in the forthcoming primary election.
Omotoso further stated that the party leadership in Ekiti State will not impose any anointed candidate.
Speaking, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, the former Minister of Police Affairs commended the party leadership and the courage of the aspirant for coming out to contest while urging him to continue the good works of Governor Kayode Fayemi if elected.
