Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of the new Clerk, Mr. Adebakin Sakiru Aremu, following his earlier appointment by the House of Assembly Service Commission.
The Assembly’s confirmation of Adebakin’s appointment followed the acknowledgement of a correspondence from the House of Assembly Service Commission signed by its Chairman, Hon. Waliu Taiwo, at a Plenary presided over the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan.
According to the Speaker, the letter read thus: “the Ogun House of Assembly Service Commission in conformity with the stipulation in the House of Assembly Commission Law, as amended appointed Mr. Adebakin Sakiru Aremu as the Clerk of the House.
“The appointment takes effect from the date of confirmation. It will be appreciated if the Speaker and the Honourable members would give the appointment the requisite legislative confirmation ,” the letter read.
In another development, the Local Government Councils (Amendment) Law 2024 scaled first reading, as the Deputy Clerk of the Assembly, Barr. Funmi Adeyemi took the long title of the bill before the lawmakers.
