Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers, has been nominated for the UEFA Europa League Goal of the Day.
The former OH Leuven star was introduced for the final 20 minutes of Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Dessers equalized for Philippe Clement’s side two minutes from time, before Bruno Fernandes fired home the winning goal for the hosts.
The striker beat the offside trap to run through on goal and take a superb touch before nesting the ball in the bottom corner.
It’s the first time the 30-year-old has been nominated for the award in the competition this season.
The 30-year-old has so far registered 17 goals and four assists in 35 appearances across all competitions for Rangers this season.
Also in contention for the individual accolade are Eintracht Frankfurt’s Can Uzun, FC Midtjylland winger Dario Osorio, and Besiktas star, Milot Rashica.
