2018 Commonwealth Games: NBBF Invites 20 Players For Camping

The Nigeria Basketball Federation have called up 20 players for the first phase of camping ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games billed to hold at the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia from between  April 4 and April 15.

According to a statement signed by the secretary general of the NBBF, Chimezie Asiegbu, the camp will open in Lagos on 5 January and will be supervised by the D’Tigers assistant coaches, Abdulrahman Mohammed of Gombe Bulls and Aderemi Adewunmi of Kwara Falcons.

Topping the list of invited players for camping are Yakubu Abdulwahab, Usman Musa and Usman Abubakar.

The list is includes seven players from Kano Pillars, four from Gombe Bulls, two from Mark Mentors of Abuja while ASPAC Basketball Club of Benin, Rivers Hoopers, Bauchi Nets, Kwara Falcons, Niger Potters and Civil Defenders of Abuja all have one player each on the list.

The statement also said that players and officials are expected to report to camp with their training kits and travelling documents as travelling arrangements and registration of players are expected to commence immediately.
