Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, is set to lead family members, associates, and well-wishers in celebrating the life and legacy of his late father, Pa Amos Adetunji Alabi Akande, who recently passed on after a life of service, impact, and devotion to family and community.
According to the funeral programme released by the family, the Christian Wake will hold on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Otun Compound in Otu, Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State. The event is scheduled to commence at 4:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Otu, beginning at 10:00 a.m., after which a reception will be held at Baptist Day School Field, Otu.
Pa Amos Akande is fondly remembered as a disciplined community leader, committed Christian, and a father whose exemplary life shaped the values and accomplishments of his children and those around him.
The announcement was jointly signed by Mr. Dolapo Akande, Mrs. Temilade Ogungbenro, and Mr. Yemi Akande, who urge friends, relatives, and the general public to join the Akande family in giving the late patriarch a befitting farewell.
