The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole has called on Ekiti people to keep hope alive and to pray for the successful conduct of the 2018 gubernatorial election in the state.
According to a statement by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, Pastor Oluwawole made the call at the March, 2018 prayer session organized by the management of the Assembly in Ado Ekiti.
He admonished Ekiti people to always hearken to the voice of God, noting that God has ways of speaking to man and obedience to such will guarantee peace and development of any society.
He prayed that as the governorship election approaches, every satanic mountain blocking Ekiti from moving to the next level will be pulled down.
Quoting from Revelation 4 verse 1 and Joshua 14 verse 10, pastor Oluwawole prayed that every obstacle aimed at terrorising the peace and progress of Ekiti in the forthcoming governorship election shall be arrested by the Holy spirit and called on the people to keep praying in the same light for the good of the land.
In his address at the occasion, the Clerk of the House, Mr Tola Esan, harped on the need for the staff to be more committed and dutiful at their posts.
The Chaplain of the Government House and Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Pastor Seyi Olusola; and Pastor Festus Ojo of the Redeemed Christians Church of God (RCCG), Peculiar Mega Parish, Ekiti, prayed for the state governor, the government, the Speaker and other members, and staff of the Assembly as they march on in 2018.
