A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and 2027 House of Assembly aspirant for Lagelu State Constituency, Arc. Hassan Giwa, has congratulated the newly appointed and confirmed Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, on his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Thursday from his media office, Giwa described Tegbe’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his track record in engineering, infrastructure development, and public service.
“Mr. Tegbe is a technocrat of proven capacity whose experience in infrastructure financing and project delivery will be invaluable in addressing Nigeria’s power challenges,” Giwa said.
The founder of the Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation expressed confidence that Tegbe’s leadership at the Ministry of Power would accelerate ongoing reforms in the energy sector and improve electricity access for Nigerians, particularly in underserved communities.
“At this critical time when Nigerians are yearning for stable and reliable power supply, the President has made a strategic choice. I believe the minister will consolidate the reforms to bring more innovation, accountability, and efficiency to the sector,” he added.
The Lagelu State Constituency House of Assembly aspirant also commended President Tinubu for prioritising competence and professionalism in his ministerial appointments, noting that such decisions would strengthen public trust in governance.
Giwa urged the new minister to adopt a collaborative approach with state governments, private sector players, and development partners to achieve sustainable power solutions.
“I pray for wisdom, strength, and success for Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as he takes on this national responsibility. Oyo State and indeed Nigeria will benefit from his expertise,” Giwa concluded.
