The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, says the victory of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the Ekiti State governorship election and the party’s dominance in recent by-elections across the country demonstrate that Nigerians reward performance, good governance, and ongoing reforms.

Yilwatda described the election outcomes as a strong demonstration that Nigerians are able to distinguish between temporary economic challenges associated with reforms and the long-term benefits of responsible governance, economic restructuring, infrastructure development, and institutional renewal being championed by the APC at both federal and state levels.

He noted that voters have shown confidence and a strong endorsement of the APC, President Bola Tinubu’s administration, and the party’s governance philosophy at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and prosperity.

According to him, the results indicate that Nigerians can distinguish between temporary economic difficulties associated with reforms and their long-term benefits.

“The overwhelming victory recorded by our great party in Ekiti State and our remarkable success in the bye-elections across the country represent a powerful endorsement of the APC’s governance philosophy,” he said.

According to the APC chairman, the APC also winning all five of the six by-elections conducted across the federation shows public support for the party.

Yilwatda said the Ekiti election has become a national reference point, proving that citizens reward governments that deliver tangible results in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security, youth empowerment, and social development.

He described Oyebanji’s re-election as a reward for visionary leadership, prudent management of resources, and inclusive governance, saying that Ekiti remains one of the APC’s strongest examples of performance-driven administration.

The APC chairman also linked the victories to President Tinubu’s reform agenda, saying the electoral successes reflect growing public appreciation of efforts to build a more resilient and competitive economy.

He congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Oyebanji, APC members, and victorious candidates in the by-elections, while commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and Ekiti voters for the peaceful conduct of the poll.

Yilwatda assured Nigerians that the APC would remain committed to delivering good governance, economic renewal, and inclusive development across the country.
