Turkish journalist Burhan Can Terzi has revealed that an unnamed European club is prepared to table a massive €120 million offer for Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, but Galatasaray have so far shown no interest in opening negotiations.
Osimhen, who scored 22 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions, played a pivotal role in helping the Yellow-Reds successfully defend their league title, subsequently attracting interest from several of Europe’s elite clubs.
The former Napoli star has been heavily linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea, and more recently Atletico Madrid.
Several reports suggested that Atletico are considering Osimhen as a potential replacement should Julian Alvarez depart the club amid growing interest from Barcelona.
Amid the ongoing speculation, Terzi revealed that the Super Lig champions have been notified of concrete interest from an unnamed European club.
According to Terzi, the club informed Galatasaray officials of their willingness to pay the huge transfer fee for the Super Eagles star.
However, the Turkish champions reportedly did not give a positive response, signaling their determination to keep hold of the prolific forward.
“A European club informed Galatasaray officials that they could pay a transfer fee of 120 million euros for Osimhen,” he was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi.
“Galatasaray management did not give a positive response. If Galatasaray gives the green light for negotiations, a formal offer will be made.”
Ahead of the new season, the Turkish giants are eager to retain the Nigerian striker as they aim to challenge for more silverware both domestically and on the European stage.
