Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, frontline gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State for the 2027 election, has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving major road infrastructure projects across Oyo State, describing the development as a significant demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving connectivity, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing the welfare of the people.
Agbaje noted that the road projects, which cut across different parts of the state, would strengthen transportation, facilitate trade and commerce, improve access to agricultural communities, and support socio-economic development across Oyo State.
The approved projects include the ₦276 billion dualisation of the Oyo–Ogbomoso–Ilorin Road; the ₦265 billion reconstruction of the Iseyin–Eruwa–Agbesi Road spanning Oyo and Kwara states; the ₦110 billion Ogbomoso–Oko–Ilupu Road linking Oyo and Osun states; the ₦98 billion construction of the 30-kilometre Idi-Araba–Ayede–Olodo Road; the ₦82 billion rehabilitation of the Igbeti Road; the ₦74 billion construction of the Igbeti–Soro–Kishi Road; and the ₦15.5 billion construction of the 13-kilometre Badeku–Jaiye Road.
According to the APC chieftain, the spread of the projects across the state reflects a deliberate effort by the Federal Government to promote balanced infrastructure development while opening up more communities to economic opportunities.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again demonstrated his commitment to the development of Oyo State through the approval of these critical road projects. Infrastructure remains a major driver of economic growth, and these investments will improve mobility, support businesses, boost agricultural activities, and create opportunities for our people. This is another practical demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda at work.”
Agbaje urged residents of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence that the ongoing investments in infrastructure would deliver lasting benefits to the state and the nation.
