The Mountain Top Chorale, a choir affiliated with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide (MFM), has emerged as the champion of the 2026 World Choir Games held in Helsingborg, Sweden.
The choir also won a gold medal in the Spiritual Category of the competition, scoring 87.38 points.
The achievement was announced by the General Overseer of MFM, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, who congratulated the chorale on its performance at the 14th World Choir Games.
The choir, conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, emerged as the gold medal winner in the Spiritual Category before going on to win the Champions Competition, earning the overall title at the international choral event.
Olukoya described the feat as a source of pride for Nigeria and the MFM family, attributing the success to discipline, excellence, dedication, and teamwork.
He said the achievement demonstrated the ability of the chorale to use its musical talents to glorify God on the international stage.
He congratulated the choristers, conductor, leadership, and others who contributed to the success of the team.
The World Choir Games, regarded as one of the major international choral competitions, brought together choirs from different parts of the world for performances across various categories.
Interkultur, the host on Monday on its website, wrote, “They came to Helsingborg ready to compete at the highest level, and today their outstanding performances were rewarded: The first Champions of the World Choir Games 2026 have been crowned!
“This morning, choirs from around the world gathered for the second Awards Ceremony of the Games to celebrate the results of the Champions Competition and one of the most prestigious achievements in international competitive choral singing.”
According to information from the host, around “8,500 singers from more than 40 countries have come together to compete, perform in concerts, and experience the unifying power of singing together.
“More than 160 choirs are taking part in the World Choir Games, which are being held in Sweden for the first time.”
