Environmental Vanguard Leadership Seeks Peace, Dialogue With Commissioner

0

The Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and effective operation of the Environmental Vanguard and the entire workforce of the Ministry.

The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Ademola Aderinto, stated this when the leadership of the Oyo State Environmental Vanguard paid a peace visit to his office following recent reports published by some blogs alleging that the State Government had neglected the welfare and working conditions of members of the Vanguard.

The visit was aimed at appealing on behalf of the unidentified members alleged to have engaged the bloggers and seeking an amicable resolution through dialogue.

During the meeting, the Vanguard leadership presented its concerns and engaged the Honourable Commissioner in a constructive discussion, which culminated in mutual understanding and a commitment to maintain peace and discipline within the ranks.

Responding, Hon. Aderinto expressed his displeasure over what he described as misleading and unfounded reports suggesting that the Ministry had neglected the welfare of Environmental Vanguards.

He stressed that his office had always remained open to receiving complaints, concerns and genuine grievances from staff and members of the Vanguard, adding that he was therefore surprised that some unidentified members chose to engage bloggers rather than approach the Ministry for dialogue, clarity, and resolution.

Speaking on behalf of the Environmental Vanguard leadership, Mr. Owolabi Idris Bankole apologised to the Honourable Commissioner and the Ministry over the actions of those yet to be identified who engaged bloggers on the matter.

He assured the Commissioner that such an occurrence would not be repeated, promising that the leadership and members of the Vanguard would henceforth conduct themselves responsibly, maintain discipline, and channel any grievances through the appropriate authorities.
