Mr Adelani Baderinwa, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work for the victory of the party in the September 22, 2018 governorship election in the state.
Baderinwa urged the APC members to be united and do away with talks and activities that can destabilize the party, warning them of the consequences of approaching governorship election with a divided house.
Speaking at the Ifelodun Local Government APC monthly meeting on Sunday in Ikirun, Baderinwa charged APC members to remember what they passed through between 2003 and 2010 before Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was declared governor by the court of Appeal.
He said it would be a disservice to the party for members to be sowing seed of discord ahead of the governorship primary, saying that the acrimony that would have been planted before the election would be difficult to settle among the party faithful.
The commissioner maintained that the every APC members must be interested in the continuity of the Aregbesola’s legacy of good governance, hence the need to work together to have a worthy successor.
Baderinwa said: “I want to urge every APC members to be united and work for the victory of the party in the forthcoming governorship election. Every APC member should be interested in the continuity of Aregbesola’s good governance. A worthy successor is what we need to crown Aregbesola’s effort.
“I want to urge our party members to stop sowing seed of discord. We should not allow our interest to divide us and cost us victory in the coming election. We should remember what we passed through between 2003 and 2010 when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in power.
“We need to work as a team to ensure that APC retain the governorship seat. Osun has been greatly transformed by Aregbesola, but we are not yet near where we are going, we need another person that is better than Aregbesola to take over from him.”
