Friday 20th of August, 2018 was another historic day for the Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Ademola Akeem Ige as he was conferred with another award by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Felele Division for his numerous contributions towards combating crime and other criminal activities in Felele community and its environs.
Hon. Ademola Ige was honoured alongside other eminent personalities in the society who have equally rendered various assistance to the police and Felele community in ensuring a crime free society. Among them were the Maye Olubadan of Ibadan land and founder of a private radio station in Ibadan, Chief Adebayo Akande, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, Engr Femi Babalola, Alhaji Ganiyu Ayinde Fowosere (Omo Gafo) and Otunba Mojisola Oyenuga.
Others included Chief Waheed Ekun, Mrs Oluyinka Laoye, Prof. Adeniyi Osuntokun, Mr Akinkunmi Oladejo as well as some corporate organizations.
Speaking at the award night ceremony which was held at Omo Gafo Event Centre, Felele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude who was represented by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Adekunle Ajisebutu lauded members of the PCRC in Oyo State for complementing the efforts of the Nigerian Police towards eradicating crime through their selfless service.
While congratulating the awardees for lending a helping hand to the Police, Mr Odude described the PCRC as wonderful partners who have been sensitizing members of the community about their roles in place of security as well as giving useful and adequate information that would assist the Police in their fight against any form of crime in the society.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman PCRC Felele division, Elder Tomi Olugbemi disclosed that the award was put together to honour and appreciate those individuals and corporate organizations who have helped the community in the area of security of lives and property and through economic enhancement of the community.
It would be recalled that Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige who was decorated and honoured with the “Outstanding Performance Award” completed the Felele police station during his tenure as the council Chairman and has been offering other logistic support to the community to reinforce its security.
