A member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Olakunle Busari has described the former governor of Oyo State Senator Rashidi Ladoja as decent leader and not a political godfather, which is responsible for the absolute loyalty he enjoys.
Busari, who is vying for the party’s ticket to represent Ibadan South/West, North/West constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, made the assertion while speaking on a radio programme in Ibadan.
He said “Senator Ladoja is quite decent and different from other political godfathers, especially in the All Progressive Congress (APC) that have turned themselves into semi-lords on the party faithful, ruling like emperors”.
“I have been under his political tutelage all these while and I never regretted for one day following his political guidance. His humane style I can say is responsible for the many loyalists he has, especially at the grassroots because many believe in his political ideology”, the former IPMAN boss noted.
While pledging to do things differently if he eventually gets the opportunity to represent his constituency, he said, “I don’t believe in digging boreholes or distributing motorcycles around but to create a long lifeline by facilitating employment opportunities from many multi-national companies situated within my constituency.
“I don’t express desperation about anything I do, but to allow the will of Allah to take preeminence. I have paid my dues by patiently waiting this long, so things must definitely be done differently if the opportunity comes.
“ADC is the party to beat in Oyo State now, very rooted in Ibadan and Oke-Ogun axis of the State and I’m sure many more credible politicians that are aggrieved or who feel cheated in other parties will still join ADC ”, said Busari, fondly called ‘Goodu-goodu’.
