Popular actor, Dele Odule is angry and the major source of his anger has to do with the non-inclusion of stakeholders in the creative industry in the discussions concerning the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun.

Odule, who made his feelings known to PMParrot in a chat during the week said he is not happy that the people in positions of authority in the country do not usually involve actors and others in serious projects.

He said “we have so much to contribute but people, especially, our media men, all they want to write about us is who is going out with who, which cloth or attire are we wearing. No, that is not what we are all about.”

While speaking about the Amotekun initiative by the six governors of the South West, Odule gave kudos to them saying that it is a right move in the right direction.

He continued “our governors took the right step but I am happy they are tidying up the legal frameworks. And I am equally happy that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and others have explained that the project is not being carried out because Yoruba people want to detach themselves from Nigeria.

“With Amotekun, the regular policemen and other security outfits will have more support to carry out their constitutionally assigned duties. We all know that Nigeria is a country that is grossly under-policed.

“However, I will like to admonish those carrying out the Amotekun project to leave no stone unturned to ensure that the right pegs are put in the right holes. In Yorubaland, we want to be seen as setting the pace. The project must record resounding success.”
