Plans On For Epetedo Hall To Be Inaugurated As Nigeria’s Democracy Center

Coalition for A Better Nigeria is organising the 10th National discourse to commemorate 26th anniversary of the Late Bashorun MKO Abiola’s self-declaration as the President-Elect inside Epetedo Hall, Lagos Island, in June 11, 1994,  during which Epetedo Hall, Lagos Island, will be pronounced “Nigeria’s Democracy Centre”.

According to Comrade Awa Bamiji, the National Coordinator, Coalition for A Better Nigeria in a statement on Monday, the Centre is planned to stand as a Federal Government Agency to promote democratic principles nationally and internationally and will equally serve as International Tourist Centre, through which the Internally generated revenue would be boosted for the three tiers of Government.

The 10th National discourse “Remembering 1993 and Thinking 2023” will be delivered by Alhaji Muhammed Makinta, 2019 APC Gubernatorial Aspirant in Bornu State and the Bornu State Coordinator, Buhari Campaign Organization  (North) and Alhaji (Dr) Salami Liadi Olagoke, FCA, former Accountant General of Oyo State and Deputy National Coordinator, Southwest, Buhari Campaign Organisation (South)

Comrade Awa Bamiji continued “The discussants are the six Prominent Youth Leaders from various ethnic Nationalities in Nigeria, who that have been carefully chosen based on their integrity and popularity

Chairman of the occasion is the oldest living Senator of the 2nd Republic under the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria and the Leader of Afenifere, Chief (Senator) Ayo Fasanmi, 95 years of age.

“Chief Host is Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu will be the Principal Hosts

“Hosts are Comrade Kamal Bashua and Prince Adetoyese Olusi, the Executive Chairmen, Lagos Island East LCDA and Lagos Island respectively

“Special Guest of Honour is President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

“Senator Ahmed Lawan, Senate President; Rt (Hon) Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker, House of Representatives; Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chairman, Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Honourable Minister of interior are the Guests of Honour.

“Father and mother of the day are Senator Biyi Durojaiye, Deputy Leader, Afenifere, and Chief (Mrs) Yetunde Babajide, Southwest Women Leader, Presidential Support Committee.

“The inauguration of Epetedo Hall as Nigeria Democracy Centre will take place same day, Thursday, 11th June, 2020, inside the old Epetedo Hall, or Eleganza Sports Centre, now Nigeria Democracy Centre, Edumare Square, Lagos Island East LCDA, by 11am prompt, with the setting up of a Committee that will include the Representatives of the Organiser and that of the three tiers of Government, which will be saddled with the responsibility of ensuring proper implementation of the project plans”.
