The Osun State Police Command on Wednesday arrested a 38-year-old man, Ajibade Rasheed caught with fresh human parts in Osogbo, Osun state capital.
A fresh head of a woman, intestine, lung, vagina, two palms, liver and a bottle containing blood were recovered from the suspect who was in one red colour Isuzu Rodeo Jeep, marked LSD 987 DJ.
The commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye while parading the suspect, said Ajibade was caught by policemen at Olu-Ode market in Osogbo.
Adeoye said that an accomplice who was in the vehicle with the suspect in the vehicle in which the human head was found escaped and efforts were ongoing to arrest him.
The CP disclosed that the suspect was bringing the fresh human head and other vital organs of his victim from Aagba, a community in Boripe local government area of the state.
He said that the command has commenced investigation to know the identity of the victim as well as know where and how the victim was killed.
Adeoye who assured that the matter would be properly investigated said that the suspect would be prosecuted accordingly.
Speaking with journalists, the suspect, who is a native of Ikirun said “I am an Alfa and herbalist. Somebody, who is known as Olorungbede came to me and said he wanted to do money ritual. I told him the materials for the job, which include fresh human head, private part of a woman and others and he said he would get it by himself.”
Ajibade, who said he was observing fasting explained that “the man brought the fresh human head to me today. My plan was to keep the head and other parts in my place till the end of Ramadan fasting before using it for the money ritual.”
He said that the vehicle in which the fresh human head and other parts were found belonged to his brother, claiming that he did not kill the woman but that the man that wanted to do the money ritual brought the human head and other parts to him.
