Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen will return to training next week, Napoli Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli has stated.
Giuntoli also confirmed that the 21-year-old Nigerian striker had a drop in blood sugar.
Osimhen was knocked unconscious in a scary incident during the final minutes against Atalanta, after a challenge with Cristian Romero and was stretchered off the pitch and taken directly to hospital.
“Osimhen lost consciousness, he also had a drop in blood sugar at the end of the game, so we think he can come back next week,” Giuntoli said on Thursday.
“He has been playing a lot lately and a rest might do him good.”
This comes as a huge boost to Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who will name his squad for next month’s final round of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers soon, with Osimhen expected to be in the squad.
