The Parent’s Forum of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos has donated ultra-modern medical Centre and Ambulance to the institution.
The Vice President of the Forum, Mr. Oritseweyinmi Boyo who led other parents to the commissioning of the Medical Centre, said that the Parents deemed it fit to make this laudable contribution to the development of the institution bearing in mind the need of students and staff to a better and world class medical facility. He commended the efforts of Mrs. Uche Omotayo of Blougat Nig Ltd for the excellent work done. On her part, Mrs. Uche Omotayo, praised the parents Forum for the opportunity given her to serve, she also thanked the school’s management for their cooperation and support throughout the construction of the project. She said the facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment that will provide world class medical services to students and staff of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie was accompanied to the event by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel Daramola, Registrar, Mrs. Folake Okor, Librarian Mr. Josiah Adeyomoye among other high ranking staff of the institution and students. He reiterated that “Quality Health care starts from a commitment to health care, which would show in decisions and actions toward health facilities”.
The Sixteen (16) bedded ultramodern structure is a testament to the fact that Caleb University is committed to quality health care. The Medical Centre is situated at a serene and vantage position for easy accessibility to the students, emergencies will quickly make it to the Centre if the need arises. He remarked that the facility has spacious general ward, semi-private wards, private wards and a theatre, increasing the admission and management capacity of the Medical Centre. It also features a dispensary with the required medications to handle emergencies and medical conditions that would be presented to the Centre. The new Ambulance also comes equipped with life support features to ensure care for patient commences or continues while commuting to the Medical Centre.
Dr. Clinton Okonye, said the Medical Centre shows that greater things abound in Caleb, by showing the world that Caleb University is increasing her infrastructure to keep up with the growing population of students and staff.
The contractor took the Vice Chancellor, Principal officers, Exco members of the parents Forum, Special Guests, Staff and students on a tour of the facility. After the tour, it was a common consensus that the facility is indeed a masterpiece, world class and architectural wonder.
