The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Ekiti State has increased the number of its CBT Centers from seven to twelve in the state.

According to the State Coordinator, Abdulwameed Akeem, the newly accredited CBT Centres include Ekiti State University (EKSU), Anglican Diocese, Ile Abiye, Afe Babalola University in Ado Ekiti Centre 1 (ABUAD Centre 1), ABUAD Centre 2 and Ajayi Polytechnic CBT Centre.

The statistics from the body show that Ekiti has recorded over 12,000 candidates ahead the 2022 examination which is tentatively slated for May 6 to May 16.

“As at Monday, 14th March, 2022, we have registered over 12,000 candidates in Ekiti State for this year’s exams and the tentative time table states that the examination starts from May 6th and to end on May 16th”.

He also charged the applicants to familiarise themselves with the Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS) by also downloading it on Playstore so that subject combinations, courses and respective Universities offering them, are drawn to their knowledge.

He equally admonished them to be independently reserved by not imitating their Peers in the process of selecting any course of Study.

However, he expressed his non-satisfaction towards the numbers of the CBT Centres in the State which can’t establish conducive environments for Candidates from Omuo, Omuo Aran, Ayetoro, Otun, Efon-Alaye, Ido among other places, who have to abandon their comfort zones for far places to write the examination due to lack of CBT Centres in their Communities.

“There is a need for us to have more CBT Centres in Ekiti State. All we have here is just twelve. When you are coming from Omuo, Omuo Aran, Ayetoro, Otun, Efon-Alaaye, no single CBT centre there. Up till Ido, no CBT centre. Candidates will be forced to move from those locations to JAMB Office”.

But as part of our own sacrifice, “we have moved around places to inform stakeholders on the need to have more CBT centres to ease movement of candidates from one place to the other”.
