The Ekiti State police command has revealed that it has arrested two armed robbery suspects during the course of its operation revealing that ammunition and others dangerous weapons were recovered from them during the operation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abutu Sunday revealed this over the weekend, in Ado- Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.
He said, “Following credible intelligence received, detectives from the command swooped on a criminals’ hideout at Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti on 13/07/2022 and arrested one Olusesan Segun popularly known as ‘Always’ and Kareem Gbenga while others took to their heels.
He further stated that items recovered from the suspects included one cut to size locally made single barrel gun, one locally made pistol, 51 live cartridges, 32 suspected stolen underwear’s, 20 suspected stolen aluminum window frames among others.
The PPRO stated that the suspects confessed during interrogation that they are into armed robbery and members of the Supreme Eiye confraternity.
He stated that the suspects arrested will be arraigned accordingly while effort is ongoing to arrest the other fleeing members of their gang.
