Italian Serie A new boys, U.S. Cremonese have officially announced the signing of Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers.
The length and financial terms of the contract agreed with the skillful striker, who emerged as the top scorer in 2021-2022 Europa Conference League, have not been disclosed by club and player.
Dessers was on fire on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord last season, making 41 appearances in all competitions, in which he netted 20 goals including ten in the inaugural edition of the Europa Conference League.
The Belgian-born striker was also instrumental in the club’s run to the Europa Conference League final which they lost to Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
Despite his exploits, Feyenoord did not trigger the option to buy clause that was inserted in his initial loan deal.
Dessers continued his fine form in front of goal, opening his goalscoring account on the first game week of the 2022/2023 season as Genk fell to a 3-2 defeat to Club Brugge.
The 27-year-old leaves Belgium two years after joining Racing Genk from Hercules Almelo in the Netherlands.
