UNICEF, Ekiti Govt Hold 3-Day Workshop For Health Workers

United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Akure Field Office in collaboration with Ekiti State Ministry of Information, Youth and Sports Development will hold a 3-day workshop for Primary Health Care workers from Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Ekiti States at Ilupeju Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of the State from Tuesday 28th March to Thursday 30th March, 2017.

The Chairman of the Social Mobilization Technical Committee for UNICEF Assisted Programmes in Ekiti State, Mr. Sunday Aribatise who made this known in Ado Ekiti, explained that the objective of the workshop is to develop Nutrition Briefs to promote exclusive breastfeeding and appropriate complementary feeding at all levels.

Mr. Aribatise added that the workshop is also aimed at developing a work-plan for advocacy to various groups to promote the developed nutrition briefs.

Aribatise said that Nutrition officers, Assistant Nutrition officers as well as Monitoring and Evaluation officers from Primary Health Care facilities in the six participating states are expected to attend the workshop.

The workshop, according to him, would be declared opened at 10 a.m by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Kola Ajumobi.
