Former Nigeria Football Federation Board member, Dilichukwu Onyedinma has submitted that Nigeria’s performance in world women’s football can only improve if the national teams get adequate preparations before competitions.
The immediate past chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League decried the situation where a certain national team had only four weeks to prepare before taking part the world Cup, while their opponents had commenced preparation a year prior.
Speaking further, Dilichukwu said women football is not appreciated as it should be in the continent and this also affect the preparation of the team in continental and global tournament.
She expressed the disparities in welfare and particularly the gulf of difference in the pay Men receive; even in the national teams.
The Women Football administrator, who now heads the Sports Department of the Federal Capital territory maintains that focus should now shift to the matter of improving the imbalanced attention and priority Women football has been subject of over the years.
