The financial fortune of Nigeria Football Federation has received a boost as the country’s football governing body have penned a new five-year agreement with an indigenous foremost integrated energy solutions company, AITEO Group.

The NFF, who for years had been looking for a major backer to finance most of their projects especially the payment of salaries for various national team coaches after Globacom failed to renewed their contract, signed the deal worth over N2.5b on Wednesday in Lagos at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

Although the specific worth of the deal could not be ascertained at the time of this report but according to our source close to the Glass House, Aiteo Group will be responsible for the salary of Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr and his backroom staff.

“AITEO will pay salaries of all National team coaches for the next five years,” NFF President Amaju Pinnick stated.

It would be recalled that NFF and telecoms giant, Globacom, opted not to renew their partnership after it elapsed in 2016.

The partnership will start on May 1, 2017 and will last five years with an initial option of a one-year extension.
