Family members, politicians and supporters of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke Monday, converged at the deceased country home, Ede, Osun state to offer the 8th day Fidau prayer for him.

There was heavy presence of security operatives while Armoured Personnel Carriers were stationed at strategic locations leading to the late Adeleke’s residence.

The armed security operatives manning the different entrances into the canopy, where the prayer was being said for the repose of the soul of the two-time lawmaker, found it very difficult to control the crowd and it was like a tug of war before some of the dignitaries could go in.

Speaking, one of the guest lecturers, the Chief Imam of Offa in Kwara state,  Muheedeen Salmon Oseni charged politicians to imbibe the good virtues of the  late senator.

The Islamic cleric reminded politicians of the need to fear God, peace, honesty and love for one another, especially in their dealings with their fellow human beings in order to enter Aljana.

Osen who described late Senator Adeleke as a great political icon who contributed immensely to the lives of many also called on the people especially political office holders to use the Fidau as avenue to amend their ways and live up to the expectations of the masses.

According to Oseni “If the fidau prayers was not held for the deceased, the wicked would not reflect on his or her past ways. All our politicians must imbibe the good gesture and character of the late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke.

Earlier, the Secretary of league of Alfas’ and Imans in Osun,  Sheik Nurudeen Gbolahan,  prayed for the repose of the late senator and asked Almighty Allah to grant him Aljarna fidau.

Gbolahan called on every one present to remember that death is inevitable in which everyone must die.

Speaking on behalf of the state government, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti who appreciated the dignitaries at the event, described the late Senator as an icon in the state and would forever be remembered for his landmarks.

Adeoti  said, the painful exit of the late Senator was a rude shock to the state as well as the entire country.

Adeleke was the Senator representing Osun West senatorial district at the Senate under the platform of All Progressive Congress APC.

Present at the Fidau included Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun,  Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Lasun Yusuff, former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former speaker, House of Representatives, Olubunmi Eteh, former governor of Oyo state, Chief Alao Akala among others.
