President Muhammadu Buhari, has decided to take to the advice of many Nigerians to go back to London for serious medical attention.
In a brief twit on his twitter handle on Sunday evening, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President confirmed that Nigeria’s number one man would be leaving the shores of the country on Sunday evening.
However, he said the length of stay of the President in London would be determined by his Doctors when he gets there.
He also firmly confirmed that the functions of government would continue under Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.
In his message, he did not indicate whether a formal hand over was instituted or whether any kind of letter was sent to the National Assembly in respect of the President’s trip to London.
Femi Adesina, in another release on Sunday evening said “The President wishes to assure all Nigerians that there is no cause for worry. He is very grateful for the prayers and good wishes of the people, and hopes they would continue to pray for the peace and unity of the nation.
“The length of the President’s stay in London will be determined by the doctors. Government will continue to function normally under the able leadership of the Vice President.
President Buhari has transmitted letters about the trip to the
“Senate and the House of Representatives, in compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution.”
