The last daughter of late political icon, Alhaji (Honourable) Gbadamosi Oduola Akande Adegoke Adelabu, Ganiyat Adeteju Akande (nee Adelabu) over the weekend marked her 60th birthday.

Although low keyed, the event, PMParrotng gathered, was organized by Adegoke Adelabu Foundation in Ibadan and was well attended.

While talking more about the celebrant, one of the grand children of the late politician, Yinka Adegoke-Adelabu submitted that Ganiyat was less than a year old when her father died on March 25, 1958.

“But this fateful occurrence marched her onto her greatness in life. She was the only child who attended the same higher Institution of learning which her father attended. The name changed, but the school remained the same in structure and academic contents.

“The father got admission to Higher College Yaba, the then highest educational Institution then in 1936. The daughter attended Yaba College of Technology which became the new name of the school.

“The years of her schooling led to the years of professional practices after graduation. She worked for 35 years under federal establishments and retired meritorously by Gods Grace.

“These years also contained the period of happy matrimony which produced cerebrally endowed children two of them are Medical Doctors. May the Almighty continue to bestow her with good health and more blessings.”
