Hon Najeem Salaam, the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly has tasked the nominees of Governor  Rauf Aregbesola for the positions of Commissioners and Special Advisers to see their nominations as ‘call to sacrificial service’.

According to a statement by Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the speaker urged the nominees to also avoid the temptation of falling into the trap of  greed, if confirmed.

The Speaker during the second day screening of the nominees during plenary on Tuesday urged them to be focused, embrace humility.

Salaam, also warned the nominees to accord respect to the high and the low, including members of the Assembly,  saying the lawmakers are in the front burners of service.

He said, “I urge you to work with the House of Assembly; we only demand the respect – we deserve it, and nothing more.

“It should be known to you that we are partners in progress in the development of the state.”

Salaam, equally urged the nominees to treat the people of the state with utmost respect, saying the time the party would return to them for electoral favour was fast approaching.

The Speaker, who noted that he was not envious of the nominees because of economic cash crunch, said they have to stretch themselves to get the desired results.

“You have my sympathy because the tea party has long gone and you have to contend with civil servants who have been piloting the ministries in the last two years”.
